Ratusan jenazah korban COVID-19 menunggu antrean kremasi. Begitu banyaknya jumlah kematian membuat krematorium di India kewalahan.

People perform rituals next to a funeral pyre for a family member who died of COVID-19 at a ground that has been converted into a crematorium for mass cremation of COVID-19 victims in New Delhi, India, Saturday, April 24, 2021. Delhi has been cremating so many bodies of coronavirus victims that authorities are getting requests to start cutting down trees in city parks, as a second record surge has brought Indias tattered healthcare system to its knees. (AP Photo/Altaf Qadri) "Sebelum pandemi, kami biasa mengkremasi delapan hingga 10 orang (setiap hari). Sekarang, kami mengkremasi 100 hingga 120 sehari," kata Jitender Singh Shunty, kepala krematorium Seemapuri di New Delhi. (Foto: AP/Altaf Qadri)
