Kongo - Petugas kesehatan terus menghimbau warga hingga pengungsi di Kongo menjaga kebersihan. Hal ini sebagai antisipasi penyebaran Mpox.

Nathalie Kipenzi, seorang promotor kebersihan, berbicara kepada para pengungsi selama kampanye kesadaran untuk Mpox, di kamp Muja untuk para pengungsi internal di wilayah Nyiragongo, dekat Goma di provinsi Kivu Utara, Republik Demokratik Kongo, Senin (19/8/2024).

Para petugas menghimbau pengungsi untuk tetap menjaga kebersihan sebagai antisipasi penyebaran Mpox.

Mpox, penyakit menular yang disebabkan oleh virus cacar monyet ini menyebabkan ruam yang menyakitkan, pembengkakan kelenjar getah bening, dan demam.

Kasus dan kematian akibat penyakit mpox atau cacar monyet telah meningkat di Republik Demokratik Kongo. WHO menyatakan lonjakan mpox di Afrika sebagai darurat kesehatan masyarakat global.
